Biased Post : Cats are better than dogs (School work)

It's quite obvious that cats are much better than dogs. First of all, they look cuter with their little ears and whiskers. Secondly, unlike dogs, cats DO NOT drool all over the place or answer the call of nature on your floor. They prefer to go to the bathroom in a litter box that is in a quiet spot. Also, they don't need baths. Cats groom themselves by licking themselves. This gets rid of dirt and loose hair. For these reasons, cats are the better pet to own.

Dogs are ugly animals that should not be kept as pets.

Bias Analysis:

I purposely wrote a biased blog post that is clearly opinionated and it isn't supported by research. I also show bias in the pictures I used. I picked a sweet kitten and purposely chose an ugly dog picture to support my opnion.

5 wonderful fiction books ( Week 1 )

 Hello blog readers!😀

Today I will be sharing five wonderful fiction books that I have read for readers aged 9-13. These books will be a great read for bookworms who love amusing tales full of adventure.

The first book is called Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate. This book is about a boy named Jackson whose family does not have enough money. Jackson's imaginary friend, a cat named Crenshaw, has come back into Jackson's life to help him. As the story unfolds readers will discover how Jackson's family work through their problems and learn just how helpful friends can be.

The second book is called The True Blue Scouts of Sugar Man Swamp by Kathi Appelt. Readers will love two of the main characters who are funny little raccon brothers called Bingo and J'miah. These little raccons work hard at their jobs as Sugar Man Swamp Scouts. Then the readers will meet Chap, a boy who loves the swamp. But trouble is brewing. The landlord might kick Chap and his mother out and to make matters worse, the swamp may be destroyed! Readers will love reading about the funny antics of Bingo and J'miah Even though this book has 104 chapters ( yes I said 104 😲) they are short and easy to read through so don't worry!

This third book is the first book in a series called The Green Ember series by S. D. Smith.
The first book is called The Green Ember. This book is about two young rabbit siblings named Heather and Picket who learn that their world Natalia is under the opression of  Morbin Blackhawk, a horrible hawk who wants to rule the rabbit kingdom. After learning this, Heather and Picket join the battle for freedom against Morbin Blackhawk. Readers will be hooked on every page as treachory, mystery and destiny all come toghether for an exciting finish. Note: this book and series may not be the ideal choice for some readers as there is a lot of violence.

The fourth book is called City Spies by James Ponti and it is the first book in the City Spies series. As this is a more complex series with a more complex plots, I suggest having kids start to read it at age 11. This book is about a young girl who is about to go to juvenile detention. But all of a sudden she gets recruited to become a spy for MI6. Full of mystery and spies, this book will have readers on pins and needles as they discover secrets and uncover mysteries, as characters go on dangerous missions and as the highest, most exciting climax is reached.

Last but not least, the fifth book is one of my personal favorites and it is called Safiyyah's War. It is historical fiction and takes place during the Nazi's occupation of France. Saffiyah is a young girl in Paris who sees the Nazis on the street every day. Hate for them fills her heart but she feels as if her father does not care about the people harmed by the Nazi's. As Saffiyah uncovers the mystery of her father's mysterious behaviour she realizes that things may not be what they seem. Readers will be on the edge of their seats as they read about Saffiyah's adventures and the the task she faces which puts her bravery and courage to to the ultimate test.

Note: You can order these books online, get them from the library or buy them at a bookstore.📘 I will add a new blog every week😀
Happy Reading!

Fund Our Libarries

City governments don't always give the city's library system proper funding because they aren't always considered to be important. However, that is not the case. Libraries are essential to communites because they provide books for people that can't afford them. They also provide a safe place for homeless people to spend the day indoors. Thirdly, libraries also provide people with access to computers and Internet. Some people who do not have computers at home can come to the library and work in a quiet space. When funds aren't coming in, libraries are open for shorter hours and do not open on the weekend, which is when most people have time to visit the library. Governments should be more aware of the importance of libraries in the community and increase their funding.
