City governments don't always give the city's library system proper funding because they aren't always considered to be important. However, that is not the case. Libraries are essential to communites because they provide books for people that can't afford them. They also provide a safe place for homeless people to spend the day indoors. Thirdly, libraries also provide people with access to computers and Internet. Some people who do not have computers at home can come to the library and work in a quiet space. When funds aren't coming in, libraries are open for shorter hours and do not open on the weekend, which is when most people have time to visit the library. Governments should be more aware of the importance of libraries in the community and increase their funding.

Libraries are special places. Maybe the next time you're here we can go visit the library in our neighbourhood! 😊
